Video Based Projects

UM Studios  I managed a multi-agency, video-based marketing campaign for the FSCS over 3 annual campaigns. We produced around 50 short, content rich films to reach a targeted audience via Facebook and YouTube and to run along side more traditional advertising campaigns.

Why Poverty? A cross-platform strategy/ implementation for a global charity, designed to get people asking questions about poverty, based around award-winning, feature-length documentaries, broadcast on national television and online. I ran a small team that did everything digital; from commissioning a new site and filling it with content; to setting up & running YouTube and social channels, and working with more than 70 national broadcasters and major foundations as partners, ranging from the BBC to the Gates Foundation. Our YouTube Channel had more than 750,000 hits in the first 6 months and Topsy gave us an estimated reach of more than 35m on Twitter.

VideoJug. Creating content for video-based encyclopaedia. I joined a start-up that created 1000’s of   short ‘how-to’ films. I led the content team and constantly refined a publishing and commissioning strategy that could predict the success of content, using metrics and trend-tracking, and balance it against spend. We moved from a piecemeal approach to a channel-wide strategy, capable of creating and marketing multiple types of content. Eight of its 10 most popular films are ones for which I was responsible. Since leaving in 2008, I have worked there as a consultant.

PaynegoPayNegotiation logotiation.com.  A pay-to-view site that teaches people to negotiate salaries. I advised on content and context, and on freelancers to turn footage into a hugely useful online series. The films are used by a raft of international business schools and 98% of users say the films are good or very good.
